Hello everyone! Want to apologize in the front for my English! I have 2000w hwd heating element. In boiling process notice some scorching smell. After a fermentation have to dump whole batch.
After that i got recirculating pump and same story but less noticable.
How to prevent hops and proteins scorching?
Should i get some sort of voltage regulator for it? If so can someone recommend me some?
Is there a way cover heating element?
Thanks in advance!!!

I run my post mash with a 4200w limit on a 5500w ulwd element never had any scorching. Unfortunately I think your only choice is to change your element from hwd to ulwd or at least LWD with the pump. Basically the element doesn't have enough surface area so it gets way to hot to dissipate the 2000w.
