I understand dead bees are a pretty politicized bunch these days, but:

A little too often John Ashbery liked to cite a Mutt and Jeff comic strip in which they placed a single dead bee in each jar of honey they sold, so as to prove its authenticity. While I was working at Flying Dog we received a written and photodocumented allegation from a woman claiming to have found a bee in her In-Heat Wheat, and could she have some swag please instead of litigating, presumably.

My question being: when can we expect bees in your meads?

And will you settle out of court for bottles of Black Agnes

We like raw, unfiltered honey and we don't filter our product, but I have yet to find an entire bee. Good beekeepers do roughly strain out large wax bits, etc., when processing and pumping the honey into the drums, although I have encountered a single wee little bee leg when racking a small batch ginger mead from secondary to tertiary. Any schmutz in the bottles is strictly not permitted, as we fill, cork, capsule, label and inspect every bottle by hand before they are boxed up. Bee-laden bottles would be removed from the line and greedily consumed by myself and other members of the Schramm family pursuant to 27 CFR 24.75. We enjoy the extra protein.

Had my first Schramms a couple nights ago...my god you can sure make one tasty ass beverage. I'm sure you are well aware of that though, but still just wanted to express how much I enjoyed it. Allow me to do so in gif form:

Ken-

Did you ever have the mead from Ring of Fire in Alaska? A friend brought me some bottles about 4 years ago and I enjoyed them immensely, but up until then the only meads I ever had were terrible home brews. They closed since then, but bottles are still available in AK for high prices.

They can, but you can't reserve the 6 bottles. They have to just walk in and grab them before they sell out.

The big question then is: if a trustee is a member themselves, or trusteeing for multiple people, can they pick up 6 bottles per membership or 6 bottles total?

This may have been discussed already somewhere here but has anyone let a bottle "decant" a buddy said he had the other day and it opened up even more than normal. Makes sense as ppl do this with fine wines. Experiences?

Ken Schramm had something in FB awhile back where he suggested decanting for 1-2 hours.

I wanted to get in on this last time, but just missed out. I asked the wife if she wanted to join the Mazer club. She hesitated and now I need a trustee. Anyone willing to help out?
