Anyone think they've seen one? (and you cannot claim your mother-in-law as a sighting....I tried that...doesn't work to well)
I used to be a believer, but no longer. There's no way such a large animal could have eluded us for so long. We've encountered far more elusive and much smaller animals than this one. There would be scientific evidence by now if they existed.
I thought we had caught one and he is serving time in GITMO ?
Remember ?

What about dragons? They span cultures and continents but what they were all dinosaurs?
There's a little kid in me that knows Bigfoot is real because nanana boo boo
"who's been chasing you"
agreed and some redneck would have mounted one and started a secret family.
I feel the same as mkringii, with almost every civilization claiming to have something similar in the folklore or beliefs throughout the world, it has to be based on something. Even if it's a rare gorilla, it's something. Of all the Crypto creatures out there, I think Sasquatch is the most realistic and likely to be someday found.
Let's see, your primitive with no science and scared that the lightning is some angry god.
You have nearly no understanding of the world around you.
You are making up things that explain what scares you.
Something that resembles you ( base new creature on what you know ), but is very large and strong ( makes them scary ), and is covered in hair ( like all the rest of the animals you know ).
Yep, seeing a real bigfoot would be the only explanation.
That seems like a very narrow minded review of primitve people. You have to understand that these people knew the flora and fauna, infact it was what they lived off of. They didnt cower in a cave over lighnting, then go to a grocery store to buy dandelion greens and rabbit meat. They may not have had the technology and science that we have but they understood the natural world.
Now to discount that even farther, the sightings and reports werent just in primitive times. In colonial america there were thousands of reported sightings, during westward expansion even more. To discount it all would be narrow minded. There are even reports today in very unpopulated places.
One theory is that the sasquatch is a humanoid but an evolutionary set thought to be extinct. It would make sense as at many times in history different human evolutions lived near eachother, Why would they all be extinct today. There are even reports as recent as recent as the early 1800s in seberia by russain soldiers of being confronted by a group of neolithic looking humanoids and killing them
There's neolithic humanoids on islands near India, but they aren't sasquatches.
