I'm looking to improve my routines on sanitizing. Currently I use one step no rinse and mix 1 tbsp with 1 gallon and do the countertops and then all the equipment that will touch my cooled wort or beer. Now I'm moving my brewing process to the garage to do bigger batches.

Ok so let's say you use starsan or one step no rinse to sanitize everything that touches your cooled wort. I have a simple question, where do you set the equipment once sanitized, a pale, countertop, hang it? Being that I just moved to brewing larger batches in my garage on a bigger kettle and burner I'm trying to figure out a solid process out there for keeping things sanitized. I'm struggling with simple things like what to do plastic bucket lid to keep it sanitized or stirring spoon or even the plastic primary fermenting bucket after you've sanitized it, how long do you let it drip dry?

I mix my starsan in my fermenter and put everything in there that I'll need. That usually includes my autosiphon, and airlock, and anything else that might touch my beer after the boil. When I'm ready to put the beer in the fermenter, I just dump the starsan into another bucket. Be sure to sanitize the lid to the fermenter as well...

On brew day, I wash and sanitize my bucket & lid towards the end of the boil, and set the lid on loosely. I don't think it's necessary to allow it to dry. Once I've poured the wort in, I sanitize the lid (again) and airlock before sealing it up.

On racking/bottling day, the siphon and tubing sit in a bucket of sani solution until just before I use them.

Having a spray bottle filled with solution is really handy.

I do mine almost exactly the same way.

I keep a spray bottle of star san around and just hit everything that needs it, as it needs it. I also fill up a 5 gallon bucket w/ diluted starsan the night before I brew to hold the airlock/carboy cap, autosiphon, etc., until they are used.

I use 2-3 gal of diluted starsan in a bucket.
Fill spray bottle from the bucket and put most other parts in a wallpaper tray covered by some starsan from the bucket.
Put about an inch in the fermenter bucket. Put the lid on with a plug in the hole and shake it every so often.
Mostly, I spray the hell out of everything. The wallpaper tray is nice for long stuff but they are fragile and awkward to empty. I keep it near the sink edge so I can easily dump it. The remaining starsan in the first bucket gets used for quick hand rinses or emergencies. Then if it's not too dirty I'll add some to the swamp cooler water.

+1 wallpaper tray is great for long items and small stuff. Lets you get away with less sanitizer. Airstone, spoons, autosphyon, airlocks, etc. fit well inside it. I've been using it on my deck and when done I accidentally kick it over with my foot and don't worry about spilling it. LOL

I usually mix up a batch of Iodine (5 gallons) and leave it in the 15 gallon fermenter while the boil is on. I tilt the fermenter many times to wet all parts of the walls and then turn it upside down and let it drain out. Being somewhat anal about sanitation in the fermenter I then spray it down with StarSan just before filling it.
