I'm 5 bottles into a new batch of milk stout. The first one I opened early, about 4 days after bottling and it was a little carbonated, not flat but little foam. At 7 days had another which was perfect. My third bottle at ten days was the rogue one. Foamed like crazy, lots of carbonation and gunk, kind of like krausen on top. Poured it off, smelled and tasted normal. Bottles 4 and 5 at 2 weeks were perfect.

Not sure the cause of the rogue bottle. By its location on my shelf it was probably one of the last to be bottled. Think I might have bottled some of the gunk on the bottom? Any other plausible explanation?

Maybe an uneven mixing of the priming solution. Besides being young. They need to sit at room temp for at least 3 weeks, some longer. Be patient & give them the few weeks they heed to carb & condition before at least a week in the fridge.
