So sad.. "O' captain, my captain!"

He was one of my favorite actors, heard he was very humble and a great man. He will be missed...

Huge influence on me growing up. The world is a sadder place.

That's really sad. He was only 63. He certainly made a lot of people laugh, and will continue to do so for a long time to come.

I'm sad about it. My wife is as well. Sad night in our apartment. The Birdcage was a fantastic film. DPS was good too. Almost all of them were great.

I thought it was a hoax with the first reference I saw on Facebook, then the headlines kept coming. I know he had been fighting depression for a long time. He will be missed. :(

A genuinely funny guy. It is so sad that he is gone, and that he suffered from depression while making others laugh. RIP Robin, you will be missed.

Very funny, brilliant comic and actor. Depression will consume you if you don't get a handle on it. So sad, he made so many people laugh, he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers for him and his family.......

Why is it that when someone that we have never met face to face passes it can affect us so much? Sad and angry all at the same time. He was hilarious, and entertained millions. I loved his stuff.

RIP. Hopefully you found some relief. The brilliant ones often seem to be the most tormented of the bunch.

Good Will Hunting was one of my favorite "serious" rolls he did, Hook, Jumanji and Aladdin are my favorites with him, I can remember watching Mork and Mindy as a kid thinking how funny he was. He will be missed.

What a sad waste of a life. I've been a fan for a long time. Great talent and a damn shame he couldn't get his sh$t together.
He's accomplished more than most could ever dream, and he'll be fondly remembered for what he has left behind. Dealing with depression isn't a get your **** together type thing. It's a constant battle that many end up losing. His death has sparked a lot of discussion on how we deal with mental illness in this country. He might still do great things.

My wife and I both can't believe it, so sad. He fought those demons for a long time. Prayers to the family.

My sentiments exactly. I found out while I was at work this evening and this is exactly what I thought.

Here's to a brilliant, quick witted, kind of guy you'd want to have a beer with.

EDIT: and for what it's worth, I am so disheartened by it I don't feel like lurking through the boards tonight.

I don't like those apples. At all.

Jeeze, it's so hard to grasp what drives someone so loved to not be able to hang on to this thin shred of existence we call "life".

So sad...
