I'm just ending primary fermentation and had a quick sniff test.
Now the smell was kinda sharp and hits you right at the back of your nostrils.
Almost sweet smell but with a sharp kick.
I hope this makes sense to some one.
Is it ok?

I'm sure your fine. Do you know what your final gravity is? That really determines if fermentation is complete. Also do you know your fermentation temperatures? What kind of beer did you make?

It's a pills larger. It's still bubbling away once every 5 mins. It's been at a constant room temp of around 19c.

No doubt its fine. Myself being somewhat more new than I'd like to admit, it is difficult to tell what to expect right away from a smell. I started up an experimental ginger wheat on Saturday morning and by late Sunday my whole condo smelled like ginger. Rather unsurprising. The thing is when I was impatient and checked under the bucket lid it was so strong I almost coughed. Ginger intensity and a finish that was almost like a bottle of pine sol detergent smell. It now smells like a pleasant sweet ginger and when I transfer it over to a clearing vessel on the weekend sampling the hydro sample will give a hint on final product.

Moral of the story: Relax and let the yeast do their thing.

That 'sharp kick' you are smelling is co2. That means all is well and and alcohol is being made! yeast + sugar = alcohol + co2. Relax, enjoy and let it ride.
