Hey there, summer is approaching quickly here in AZ (it was upwards of 90 today). Please post your recipes for the lightest, most drinkable, most refreshing summer beer you've made. I'm looking for something that I can get in the glass relatively quickly and hopefully 5.0+ Abv.

Cheers! :mug:

I like wheat beers during the hot season... Here's a recipe I like:

Hefeweizen!
5.25 Gal.
7 SRM
16.6 IBU
5.5% ABV
OG: 1.055
FG: 1.014

4.75 lbs American 2-Row
4.75 lbs American Wheat Malt
0.75 lbs Crystal 30L

1.0 oz US Tettnanger (4.7%)

Wyeast 3056 Bavarian Wheat Blend

Single infusion @ 152* for 60 min
Ferment @ 64*

It's tasty and very drinkable at 3 weeks (even better at 6 weeks).

Awesome, thanks guy! So many options.

I cannot wait to try out the keg setup I just bought on this next batch!

American Wheat
5.25 Gal.
OG 1.050
Eff: 70%

5# 2 row
5# wheat malt (the good german stuff)
1 scoop rice hulls
1 oz. wilamette 60 min.
.3 oz wilamette flame out
.3 oz. centennial flame out

wyeast 2565 kolsch yeast, ferment at 65F for one week and then keg.

This was a great clean tasting beer that would be perfect for summer grilling parties.

Sweet Blonde Ale:

8.0lbs Pils Malt
1.0lbs Pale Wheat

1.0lbs Corn Sugar

US-05

0.75oz Saaz @ 60m
0.25oz Saaz @ 5 min

This is a VERY light, pale brew. It will be ready to keg in 2 weeks. A keg of this went dry too damn fast at a fish fry last Saturday, I should have brought two kegs.

How long do you boil?

What's the OG and FG?:mug:

He listed the yeast strain right after the Corn Sugar, US-05.

This looks good! My bride asked me last night when I was going to brew something she'd drink, and I think the Sweet Blonde Ale it will be! This'll give me a chance to test out the mash tun I made yesterday afternoon!

Poker Face Ale
Kinda Brown but lighter in flavor.

OG 1.050ish / FG 1.012ish / IBU's 30ish / SRM 14 or so

85% 8.5lbs Pale Malt
10% 1 lb Flaked Oats
5% .5 lb Crystal 40L
one handful of Black Patent
two Handfuls of Chocolate

1 oz of Cascade 45min
1 oz cascade 15min

US-05 Yeast Strain

154* for 45min, 60 min boil, and ferment around 65* for 10-14 days in primary, then keg, chill and carbonate.
Drinks well with others!

Or I could pimp the Rye Beers in my drop down at the left.
