Recommend me a great red kit

Hey guys, I would love any recommendations for your favorite high-end red wine kits. I’d like to get another kit or two under me before trying my hand at using fresh grape juice. Thanks!

This Super Tuscan (red blend) is really good. Better (for my palate) than some of the much more expensive kits I've made. The more expensive ones (with skins, multiple wood additions, etc) have incredible complexity and character, but that can be overwhelming, especially when you are pairing wine with food. The second example, the Lodi Ranch 11 cab, is a kit I've made 3 times. It is a fairly heavy, tannic red with all sorts of vanilla and berry notes. But it might also be a good one to try. That latter one you're going to want to age.

Just picked up the Winexpert Private Reserve Super Tuscan and will be starting that next weekend when my kids come into town (they can get a feel for wine making). We’ve sampled quite a few Winexpert kits and this is my wife’s favorite, my top three. I do like the Amorone and the Ranch 11.

The problem I have is our local supply store doesn’t carry aged bottles to purchase, just newly bottled or on the shelf for a month or so before they are bought up. So while they are ok as a sample, I haven’t had a properly aged sip yet.
