Looking for thoughts on this recipe before I order ingredients and brew er up. Ive never used Mandarina Bavaria before but the description seems like it might play well with the rye. I’m not looking for a hop bomb here, just enough to work with the 550 and rye.

I personally love Mandarina Bavaria. It is easy to bury that one in the phenolics of Belgian Yeast. I might be inclined to reduce your bittering charge enough to add another half ounce to the boil addition and the left over half ounce at Flame out. Otherwise, you have a solid recipe as far as I am concerned.

Cant see your recipe

However you are right in thinking that MB would go well with Rye

I like the hop, but I think it takes a fair bit of it to get much of its flavor. Maybe add a small whirlpool addition?

Thanks for the advice. I will increase to 2oz of Mandarina Bavaria with .5oz at flameout or whirlpool
