Re-using yeast

I just brewed a pale ale. It came out very astringent due to brewer error (yes, I effed up). Can the yeast be re-used or will the astringent flavors carry over?
 
it can be reused. the astringency is in the beer not the yeast. even if you carry some liquid over into the next beer it'll be such a small percentage it shouldn't have an effect
 
if you plan to save it you can wash it, but if its just going into the next beer no need
