Re- Secondary ???

Just transfered an IPA to secondary fermentor 3 days ago...added 1oz. cascade hops to dryhop.
Boss called...." pack your bags I need you in Detroit for the next three weeks"
.....$%$%^&*@(&^*#% it !!
Is it OK to dry hop for 3 weeks or should I transfer to another empty Carboy I have here and forgo dryhopping all together

I suspect the worst that would happen if you leave it is that you will find it extra hoppy and perhaps a bit "grassy." That will dissipate with time.

FWIW, I have read here that some folks who dry hop in kegs leave it there until the keg is done. Of course, that time varies considerably, lol.

Is there any harm in transfereing to another carboy? the hops are in a muslin bag which I can afford to loose and perhaps in 3 weeks re-dryhop for about 48 hrs. with 2 oz. of hops....

I would take this into consideration. Although the people who leave their dryhops in the keg do it at serving temp, essentially slowing down the process. Can you put the carboy in a fridge, or maybe even a cool basement for the 3 weeks? I would think you'll be fine. My last IPA I left the hops in the keg and my best pint was the last!

A lot has changed there if you haven't been back for awile. I know the area well since all of my lawn maintenance sites I managed for 15 years were all along Big Beaver from John R. to Woodward.

The bolded are the ones closest to the Detroit area, if not in the detroit, none of them are more than an hours drive from Downtown but most of them more like 20-30 minutes. If you can only go to ONE brewpub on your journey then you have to go to Dragonmead, they only have about 50 of their own Beers on tap at any given time.

yes, it probably was. dad was transfered there for a couple of years. it was a very old house, i think dated back to the 1800's right next to an Auto parts. VFW hall was across the street. Dad had come back from Nam so he hung out there.seems like I remember a couple of gas stations on the west corners. I went to Big Beaver elementary school

So by the way, have we figured out what he should do with his hops yet? Talk about a de-rail.

I'm thinking if they are in a sack, maybe sanitizing something and fish them out before you leave. Then re-dryhop for a few days when you get back, and before you bottle or keg.

Maybe ask him to give you a few days before you fly out, so that you can bottle/keg your brew after dry hopping? As a fellow homebrewer maybe he'll understand.
