Hey everyone,

I've got a Coopers Pilsner kit that I'm looking to start in the next few days. I was thinking about adding Raspberries to the secondary. Will the included yeast packet (it's a Lager yeast) work to ferment the raspberries' juices, or should I be using an Ale yeast?

I ask because most of the Raspberry recipies I've seen are ales, so I was becoming concerned that a different style wouldn't work very well.

Thanks for your help in advance.

It would work. The main difference between ale yeast and lager yeast in our use is the fermentation temperatures. If you have the lager fermenting at 50 degrees, the berries' sugar would be fermentable as well.
