Anyone use a RAPT Temp Controller for a 120V 1650W RIMS coil for 5 gal batches? It says max outlet power is 1800W, so it seems doable, but it would be a bummer to kill it from overheating running near the max watt limit for a few minutes. If you have one in service with a similar setup, what PID settings do you use?

I just got one for a fermentation chamber and the profiling is super easy to setup and its nice to be able to save profiles which seems like a big advantage over an EZ BOIL controller.

Nope, but it appears to use 15A receptacles and plug so they can't really publish a rating more than 1800W even if the guts could take it.

My opinion is it would be fine but I can't make a guarantee.

Best bet probably contact them if you still have doubts.
