hey everybody, I went to my supplier today to pick up some yeast for a cider and decided i might as well have another beer going while I wait for the cider to mature.

I wanted to use up some leftover Kent Goldings, so i just picked whatever sounded good for the recipe, anyone care to help me name the beer and/or inform me what it is closest to in style? Here's what's going in it:

for 3.5 to 4 Gallons:

4 lb. LME
1/2 lb. Black Patent
1/4 lb. Chocolate Malt
1/2 lb. Brown Sugar
-and maybe- 1/2 lb. dextrose

1 1/4 oz Kent Goldings (boil)
-and maybe- 1/2 oz. Czech Saaz (finish)

WLP530 Abbey Ale Yeast

I don't know If this qualifies as a porter or what. I don't really care, cause I think it'll be good, but what do y'all think?

I guess it is close to a porter but I would definately cut back on the black patent. That stuff is pretty strong.

yeah, i was actually considering only using half of the grains and saving the rest, so 1/4 and 1/8 respectively. I guess this is somewhere between an english mild and a porter?
