first up was Jessica. so I played Allman Brothers.

She had heard of the song, but had no idea she shared a name with it

I postulate the percentage of women her age named Jessica & named after that song approaches 0.

next was Annalee, so I played The Band

"hey! I was named after that song!"

I postulate the percentage of women named Annalee & named after that song approaches 100

Back in the early 70's I bought a ticket to see the Eagles in Mobile Alabama($6). Fogelberg was the opening act and he blew the crowd away. I've been a huge fan ever since.
Oddly, my Spotify last night was playing Fogelberg songs at least every third song, we listened to stuff I hadn't heard in decades.

I think Joe Walsh was responsible for producing "Souvenirs". You can hear Glenn Frey singing background on some of his early stuff too.

I can imagine that just about every Aubrey you ever met had a mom who listened to Bread.

A co-worker told me her mom named her Brandy after the song (Brandy Your A Fine Girl) by "Looking Glass". I also know a Rhiannon, whose mom named her after that song by "Fleetwood Mac". Good music does influence people.

That's interesting. I don't hear much Joe Walsh influence but I certainly don't doubt it. This concert was before Joe was officially an Eagle. I don't want to blame him, but a couple of years later I went to another Eagles concert and the priced had doubled to $12. Outrageous, who had that kind of money in the mid 70's?

The Cantarelles are prime time though, now and a few weeks forward they pop up like, well, mushrooms...

Snow is very rare here. But endless freezing fog is not. That's why I go back to the states before winter, I can't go weeks without ever seeing the sun. The fog jack's up the moisture to levels needed by the mushrooms to sprout.

I believe this is the first time I've seen "decimeters" used in casual conversation. Maybe I've just led a sheltered life. In the US.

Set up to get my first views of Saturn last night with the new (to me) scope. Views through the eyepieces were fantastic, could clearly see the space between the rings and the planet even with its current tilt, beautifully sharp, and could see details on the planet, however to capture that with my smartphone proved to be a challenge, I'll work on that, probably need an actual camera but whatever, this is what I got haha.

And I don't recall ever seeing gutters on a barn, but I don't think I've seen a white roof on one, either...

The barn is over a 100 years old but the roof got replaced a few years after a wind storm.

My son got a HF leaf blower to blow the dust off the combines every morning.

Turns out it’s the Spinal Tap Special Edition model.
