So, last night in Romania. Had to try the local hooch, called Tuica. It is a twice distilled plum brandy, commercial samples range up to 130 proof, but the local home brews go a bit higher, probably in the 150 range. Surprisingly, it doesn't come off as rocket fuel, actually fairly tasty.

I've had a similar drink in Hungary and Romania called palinka. Often served in an old 2 litre soda bottle.

Yep, that's the one. Ours was in plastic water bottles. The other one had sour cherries in it, and the alk burn was much less noticeable.

Those are too slow for that application. Too slow on the reload and requires constant manning. One of these on the other hand...

Is it weird that this only has 20-30 seconds of ammo storage? I do like the range though...

only takes a 1/2-second burst to shoot down an incoming missile

not sure they would sustain a rate of fire for 20 or 30 seconds, but I can check with my Fire Controlmen shipmates

just a random picture, but thought it was funny someone might think a candle would improve the smell inside the outhouse. The candle is almost gone so maybe the joke is on me. Also watched too many cartoons as a kid which conjures images of non-lethal explosions.

restaurant was in business from 1973 to 2015. INDOT took 40 acres at 'fair market value' to expand highway interchange for Chrysler plant. Sad.

Took these the other day just up the street from the porta-potty, a red tail hawk and it's future dinner sunning right across the street from the hawk.

A few days later a half a block up the street was a Coopers Hawk on the next light post, it was less happy about my picture taking.

Today I see the cooper's hawk on the first light post and it seemed less nervous

I get to the next light post and there was a kestrel on that one, it took off as I got ready to take a pic and as it flew away it made a dive and came up with a lizard. It lite on the light post but I made it nervous and it flew down to first light post scaring away the other hawk.
