I've yet to try anything from Harmonic. Just assumed they were trash like most other newer SF breweries. Are they...ok? Please do the needful and advise.

Would not say they are as terrible as Local, Black Hammer, etc. but would group them in the don't go out of your way.

But Barebottle is worth the visit. Good beers, lots of variety, and awesome space.

Also, we are moving north to your area. Need the information on any good beer spots. Unless the answer is Beercraft.

I’m out in SF for a couple of days and saw signs out on the street for Blackhammer etc, feeling justified in not stopping in.

City Beer Store is still a great place to drink. Glad I got to go back before the move.

It is easy, go to:

  • Toronado
  • City Beer Store
  • Cellarmaker
  • Crafty Fox
  • Old Devil Moon
  • Barebottle
Probably forgot one or two

welp...that's kinda the answer for the moment :|
the new Iron Springs spot in San Rafael is pretty decent, plus the old pool hall a few blocks down on 4th is going to reopen soon as a brewpub. I actually enjoy hanging out at Marin Brewing Co. even tho I've only been a few times since crossing the bridge ~2 years ago. Ludwig's in San Anselmo will have some nice bottles from time to time. MVBC is full on Fort Point beers now, so boring but the food is pretty good. apparently, someone is opening up a City Beer type store in somewhere in Marin soon, so there's that.

Marin does have a few great dive bars, tho. hit me up and me and we'll show y'all around.

Still haven't been to Old Devil Moon. Old friend from LA is one of the dudes that started it. Need to make it next time I'm in San Fran aka Frisco :p

San Fran is so deeply hurtful. I know you’ve left, but I will call LA Los Ang if we ever meet up. Frisco is good.

Another Brut IPA to put into the:

This style Is ******* terrible. Kill it now.

I had that tonight. I figured Alvarado St couldn't make something called an IPA that was bad, right? Turns out yes, yes they can, because that beer is ******* garbage.
As is virtually every brut IPA. Who could have guessed a beer style invented by ******* Social Kitchen would suck?

Tried my first Brut IPA this evening from Pollyana Brewing (Lemont, IL), and it was most certainly not my thing at all. I like the idea of the style, and I'll need to try a few more versions before I can write it off, but it wasn't a good start.

I haven't had the "pleasure" yet, but is it basically just a super-dry IPA with prickly carb?

I got a really intense black pepper phenolic as it warmed, and you know I love Saison. Plus the hop aroma was pretty subdued.

This was the Pollyana Champagne Breakfest for what it's worth.

Last night I was drinking with neighbors and accidentally knocked a full bottle of Misbeehavin Buckwheat blossom from a chair onto a concrete surface. The bottle exploded and all the mead was lost. What a sight it was.
I love that I googled to see what the bottle looked like and this was the 2nd image result, lol:
