They need to bring back Shiner Smokehaus.

That **** was delicious.

God I hated that beer.

It took me a while to figure out what you guys were talking about with "stove pipes." Is that some regional thing? I've always called them tall boys.
Imperial pint vs. pint can.

As far as regional packaging names go, if you ask for a “long neck” in Texas you’ll be handed a Lone Star bottle.

I don't know if this is still the case but probably is because I generally only drink at home but in PA if you ask for a "Lager" you get Yuengling Lager.

Or as their ads have said "Yuengling is Lager's first name."

I always thought of 16oz as "tallboys", but was informed that 16oz is actually a "pounder" and 24oz is a true "tallboy". However a 16oz can is obv taller than a 12oz and honestly it doesn't matter until someone tries to correct someone else in person at which point a ****** line has been crossed.

I used to enjoy the Labatt Blue 25.4 ounce "oil can" but have only seen Foster's in that size in a while...not that I am often seeking that out.

Does anyone make "splits" (7 oz bottle) anymore? There was a bar I frequented in college, where we usually order a case of OV (Old Vienna) splits. The bartender would just open the top and dump a bunch of ice over the bottles and then set the case up on the bar.

Little Kings and Corona come to mind.

I've always known them as pony bottles. A 7oz miller high life pony is the best shower beer.

I was at a beer store yesterday, and saw Haymarket cans for the first time. I was initially excited, because I'd been wanting to try their stuff, but had no interest in driving out to Bridgman for it. Then I looked at the canning date on the bottom...Feb 2018 for a pale ale. The brewery is 90 minutes away, and their first delivery involves a four month old pale ale? Absurd.

Is this the same Haymarket in Chicago? You're not missing much...

Haymarket Bridgman is canning their offerings, same ownership / head brewer (Pete Crowley), but a different system / water supply / etc...

Certainly not my favorite spot in Chicagoland, but I can almost always find a couple of things on draft (at either location) that strike my fancy. The Defender (hop forward American Stout) has always been solid, I'm a fan of his Belgian hop forward offerings, and some of his barrel aged stuff is world class when it's on (Indignant, Clare's, etc...).

I see Rhinelander Export Shorty bottles around WI. (Growing up in SE PA, we called them Pony bottles.)
