There is nothing new or interesting about them.

Like, it’s a bad version of a Russian River-style IPA, but even drier? Which accommodates, uh, things.

Disclaimer, I have not yet had a Brut IPA.

In my mind, it sounds like a saison made with an american ale yeast (IE low esters if any and no phenolics), that is very dry, very well carbed, and has lots of dry hops.

Right or wrong?

I'm intrigued if only because I'm a curmudgeon when it comes to NE IPA.

Wrong about the very well carbed. It’s spritzy. I don’t know. I’d much rather have a dry-hopped Saison or a West Coast IPA. Nothing wrong the best thing but nothing’s terribly interesting either.

I'm not sure whether to make fun of this or not but I am going to get a cone

Farmstead is trademarked to HF
Exactly. Basically if Shaun doesn't go after other people using his trademark, he can have his trademark overturned for failure to protect.

At least, that's the general idea - I'm probably using incorrect nomenclature since I'm not a lawyer. Either way, this isn't Shaun being a dick, he's doing EXACTLY what you're supposed to do when you're a trademark holder.

As soon as I saw that can I knew it was only a matter of days until they had to change it. You'd think Duvel would have lawyers that would check this **** out before they went printing labels.

What the hell was "farmstead ale" supposed to mean in the first place?
"We want to cash in on Hill Farmstead's popularity but have a marginal excuse for an out."

There is just no ******* way that **** wasn't intentional. "Farmhouse" I could buy, but "Farmstead"? Come the **** on.

I'm sitting at work tying up some loose ends before the Holiday weekend.

My father is at the brewery he works at tasting out barrel aged stout variants for their anniversary party next weekend. Apparently his preference order is 2 Year Barrel Aged, Coconut Rum Barrel Aged, Bourbon Barrel Aged, Aquavit Barrel Aged, Blueberry Bourbon Barrel Aged and Raspberry Bourbon Barrel Aged.

Will the new unpasteurized C&C La Folie go out in distribution? That's what I really want to know.
We're getting it in Texas fo sho. I can't speak for other states.

I'd think if you've been getting their other specialty offerings some would make it there.

EDIT: "bottles will be available for sale in select markets retailing at $10 a bottle"

Not sure what they mean, but Austin IS a "select market". You might wanna fire them off a message on Twitter.

I went in knowing that this brewery is awful, but I figured I would spin the wheel on my first Brut IPA.

Now I have to find another one, just to see if this style really is this awful, or if Ale Industry just managed to make the worst beer I have had since the last Ale Industry beer I opened.

But its only a matter of time before someone makes turmeric latte IPA, and it will look exactly like that.

I just took this picture at work for you.

(It's not especially hazy or milkshake-y at all, but it's made with tumeric. It's also very much Fonta Flora being Fonta Flora)
