I don't get the hate here? Cycle generally make really nice beers and make them in such a quantity now that there is pretty much no secondary market for them so the **** lords of Florida have moved on. Which has been great as these weekday series beers seem to be available for a couple of weeks past release.

I heard the same thing, and I'm guessing it wasn't from the same source as you.

Some are also claiming it's just a weird cherry-like flavor from the macadamia nuts. I suspect a lot of beer geeks see "macadamia" and expect it to taste like those giant cookies from Costco.

My current plan for this Huna weekend is to drink a lot of beer and not buy any bottles beyond stuff that's already included in tickets (Huna, BA Day bottle, etc.). The only stuff I plan to purchase is a **** load of Hrd Wtr cans if I can find them.

Looks like we have a disaster brewing in the Monday bottles. Anybody who purchased one (or several) please return them for a refund at your convenience. Anybody with extenuating circumstances or who opened theirs already send a message and we will take care of you.

We will be halting all bottle release plans for the rest of the week, NO MORE RELEASES THIS WEEK.

The tasting room will resume normal hours with our normal beers on tap.

Barrel Aged Day - This event will still happen as planned, obviously minus Monday, but we should still have a lot of other beers to put on tap.

If/When we decide to release any of the remaining bottles, we will make that announcement but until then, it is business as usual, not beer week usual, non-release week usual.

We are beside ourselves over this, we have a lot of safeguards to prevent this from happening but it wasn't enough. Our apologies to the folks who already experienced the issues, and for folks who made the trip to get bottles only to be hugely disappointed.

FAQ's

No, we don't know what happened, it honestly doesn't matter, anytime you age beer in oak barrels and add adjuncts and package it in bottles, the variables and possibilities are nearly endless and the result is the same, refunds all around.

Yes, we might still release the other beers in the future but considering everything was packaged with the same equipment and handled with the same care (which is extensive, but not enough obviously) we simply can't risk a release at this point.

Sunday bottles seem fine, if anybody is concerned and is in town from elsewhere and doesn't want to take a chance on it, you can also return those bottles to the tasting room.

That's a bummer. The days of the week from them that I've had have always been pretty good. Hope they find that its only that one day that had issues.

MIA Brewing makes a flavored alcoholic beverage from dextrose fermented with champagne yeast and yeast nutrient. It's refreshing as all **** and I want to drink it all summer:

Cucumber lemon lime is my jam. Apparently there's also Key Lime and Pineapple Coconut flavors coming (or they might be out already). ISO all of it.

They're aight, but the flavor is pretty faint. Alcohol is quite well hidden. They don't really have much acidity or any sweetness. Kinda like boozy la croix.

Yeah, any time a stout not made with cherry has cherry flavors, you can be pretty sure there's at least brett in there.

I was in a group with him for a while. Dude is a total scammer. Pretty sure he's into meth or something, never had any money yet always was smoking weed or getting bottles, went as far as what a group of us think, was lighting his apartment on fire to get people to send him money.

He tried to steal a case of Friday bottles from Cycle at BA Day two years ago, then tried to pretend he didn't know what he was doing because he was drunk. I still have no idea why he hasn't been 86'd for life.

Actually I got him mixed up with another guy named Kyle, who was apparently from Michigan. The guy in my post got banned from Cycle for another reason but is apparently unbanned now. He's one of the most infamous homeless mule shitlords from past Cycle releases, back when there tended to be limits.

According to some of my friends he's also really unhinged generally.

You know it's funny, I got an email voucher from Total wine a couple years ago for a pappy bottle. When I went to grab it I didn't expect a line of at least 80 people waiting to buy this ****. I just turned around and left and it hit me that bourbon probably has a lot of the same shitlords that the beer community has.

Another fun one today, this time from Angry Chair:

A 4 mule team went up the the security guy and told them they’re here to buy beer for someone who’ll remain nameless... he got on the phone with him and told him his mules aren’t getting served.

...

I was standing 5 feet from them when they walked up. They asked the AC worker if he knew *redacted* because he told them to get there at 7 and they could make some money. The worker proceeded to ask them if they were muleing which they had no idea what that meant. The mules then proved to call him and ask what they should do because they were already at the brewery at around 6:30. The AC worker took the phone and asked if he was hiring mules. He then denied it and said he did not know the people that asked for them. The AC worker replied “if they don’t know you why do they have your phone number?” It was all very funny to watch. All 4 of the mules left after a few minute phone conversation. They looked like the shadiest drug addicts you could find. They also obviously had know idea what was going on.

TBBW is going to provide a lot of entertainment this year.
