That sounds absolutely awful but Tired Hands is literally the only brewery I can think of who -might- be able to pull it off effectively. I've had some pretty crazy **** there at times (especially on the cask at the Brew Cafe) that I was sure was going to be gross but somehow managed to work. No way I'd blindly get a 4-pack of cans though, that's a "sample on draft first".

Is breweries talking about what crop of hops they used and how they went out to Yakima and hand-selected them and blah blah blah going to be the new thing that everyone does?

I just wonder why the hell it's an IPA? Breakside makes (made?) a golden ale that contained basil, tomatoes and pluots, and it was fantastic. The flavor combos could probably work, but I don't know about it being an IPA.

Tired Hands is one of the many breweries where I really like the beer and really hate the social media presence.

I will give them credit for one thing though: their non-gimmicky IPAs aren't all "OMG str8 joose brah!" and they actually make good use of centennial, chinook, simcoe, columbus, etc. to get piney/grassy/resiny hop flavors and aromas. For as dumb as their Instagram descriptions are, being able to grab a fresh case of HopHands as a fridge-stocking pale ale is awesome, it's one of the best beers of its type if not the best.

Legally, you aren't allowed to put any beer other than a limited, hazy IPA in a 16oz can.

I can't wait for this to parodied everywhere like your ode to HF.

So hoppy juice purveyors Sand City have had their tasting room closed indefinitely. They ran afoul of the Zoning Board and their neighbors for all of the usual and unsurprising reasons that come up when neckbeards line up hours in advance to buy beer out of their building.

They announced they're going to the next ZBA meeting to try and come up with a solution. The comments on the post all amount to "the Town is dumb for not recognizing how important you are" "move to X instead" and "Can I bring 'Free Sand City' signs to the meeting"

I can't imagine that this won't end poorly for them in some capacity. Maybe the superfans will line up to get into the meeting and be drunk in public and leave a mess there, too.

How can a word that looks so ugly sound so beautiful?

Don’t listen to him soliloquy, I think you look lovely. Especially for being approximately 400 years old.

Seriously, how can any word with “olilo” in it look ugly? That would make a decent beer name.

Also, the OED word of the day is a ridiculous one

I believe they had trouble with the town prior to them canning but I could be wrong, though I’m sure it could’ve further annoyed the town. Either way, it does seem like Northport is taking a pretty tough stance with them. Some people are of the opinion that they just want them out of there as the brewery doesn’t fit that north shore aesthetic.
Hopefully it works out for them because they seem like good people and make some really nice beer.
