Saw this posted in the replies to a Westbrook post about Maple Bourbon and Double Barrel Biscotti Cake Break:
"Never tried one of these before, what can I expect? Sweet? Bitter? Dry? Sour? Before I spend $50 on a bottle I'd like to have somewhat of a clue. Thx"
Doesn't even have a remote clue what the beer is, would still consider dropping $50 on a bottle.
Biscotti Cake Break was disgusting. Ain't no fixing that beer by putting it into a barrel (or two)
Hmmm, $50 on a bottle of pastrystout....or $50 for a bottle of really ******* good whiskey/rye? Hard question.Saw this posted in the replies to a Westbrook post about Maple Bourbon and Double Barrel Biscotti Cake Break:

The problem isn't beer, it's people. People are ********. Lets never forget that.Hmmm, $50 on a bottle of pastrystout....or $50 for a bottle of really ******* good whiskey/rye? Hard question.
I ******* hate beer. /tikk
I quit buying expensive beer that has to be consumed once opened. Biggest waste of $$. $20 is my Max.Hmmm, $50 on a bottle of pastrystout....or $50 for a bottle of really ******* good whiskey/rye? Hard question.

Agreed. This is why I actually applauded when FSW bottles went down to 16oz bottles. Yeah it's more per ounce, but I'm also a ******* dad that doesn't enjoy doming bombers of faux-barleywine on a weekday.I quit buying expensive beer that has to be consumed once opened. They’re 12. I could use them as 6s.Agreed. This is why I actually applauded when FSW bottles went down to 16oz bottles. Yeah it's more per ounce, but I'm also a ******* dad that doesn't enjoy doming bombers of faux-barleywine on a weekday.
****, I first wrote that and then swtiched it. Drinking myself silly now after that Game 7.They’re 12. I could use them as 6s.
Even with beers I love, I'd be much happier if everything moved into small format cans and bottles - 12 oz or less. The only advantage for large format bottles is that it makes sharing them with larger groups more practical. But I imagine most of us aren't going to bottle shares nearly as often as we're cracking open a beer at home in the evening.
Ever been to Bavaria? A liter of beer all to yourself is ******* awesome!
Isn't that the point of opening it? Consuming it? That's why I open a beer.beer that has to be consumed once opened
With a good bourbon for the same cost you can enjoy it for years. That whales bro barrel aged stout for $50? Gone in a few hours.Isn't that the point of opening it? Consuming it? That's why I open a beer.
Very true. There was a lot of batch variation. They had one on draft last year during the BA Cake release that was an awesome coffee bomb. I haven't had all of the bottled batches, but at least one of them I recall being a mess.

Are you going to put it next to your outhouse?Picked this up after someone posted it in Lambic Lovers on FB. I like it. Holds 72 bottles, it’s sturdy. I am however going to dot the joints with Gorilla wood glue before I load it up cause I’m OCD like that.

People will eventually realize that rare beer is a colossal waste of time and money.A good specific example is the Cantillon stuff (see the lambic thread), but basically all shitlord behavior has been taken up to 11 and so many peoples' jimmies are in a peak state of rustle.

No idea, but it sounds equally dumb. How long have wine collectors been a thing?
