When I first got into beer a little over a decade ago, I disliked ipas, pale ales, and other hoppy beers. Eventually I got used to those styles and came to appreciate them. Hop-forward styles were never my go-to if stouts or sours were available, but I've loved plenty of hoppy beers over the years. Now, as this NEIPA nonsense is supplanting the stuff I used to enjoy quite a bit, I'm starting to hate hop-forward beers again. After I get through my current stock of Aslin hops (2/2 drain pours so far) I think I'm giving up on hoppy beers until this craze dies out and is replaced by something less awful.
Who hacked beerindex's account?

For anyone not acquainted:

I assume this is a collab with Flippin' Burgers restaurant in Stockholm. The beer sounds gross (does it have meat in it?), but that restaurant is awesome.

I've probably heard 10-15 different brewers try and compare NEIpa to the Black IPA On podcasts.

I don't see any comparison . Black iPas never owned this type of market. Not even close

I think it's more of the fact that many folks just want neipa to go away. I don't see that happening anytime soon

I dont understand why anyone would listen to a beer centric podcast.

A beer nerd plopping down next to me at a bar is bad enough.

I have listened to brewing centric podcasts. There is enough to talk about there to keep it fresh at least to me.

Listening to people drink beer isn't happening.

I do listen to a podcast where one of the hosts drank so much wine so fast he was puking into a bucket and insulting sponsors. That was fun but it's also not a wine podcast.

I'm pretty good friends with the guys who do The Beerists podcast. I've known John/Mike for 10 years...

John Rubio is as much of a piece of **** as you'd think he is.

I could deal with a history of beer type podcast or how something is brewed or whatever, but dudes talking about how juicy an IPA is or tasting notes from last week's lambic tasting can **** right off.

Landed some Tilquin Pinot Noir in Sweden, thumbs crossed I'll be able to get one (were announced as 3pp at first). The process is the worst as we have to register a request to but this beer at the state alcohol monopoly and then they re-directs it to the importer (the one that announced that they had some Pinot) and the importer sends a reply to the monopoly if they are able to comply with the request and the monopoly sends the customer an offer by mail to which the customer has 14 days to accept or decline. After that the customer might have to go to the physical store to which the bottle are to be delivered and pay 30% of the total as a down payment.... uhhh. Each step takes at least a couple of days, so the whole thing can take like 3 weeks or something.

TL;DR: hoping to get Tilquin Pinot Noir through the Swedish alcohol monopoly.

Today I got my reply. I'm getting one!! :)

(HenrikO intresseklubben antecknar typ, men tog nära nog 4 veckor... trodde det var kört när jag såg alla bilder på folk som fått sina 3 flaskor på instagram.)

I listen to STEAL THIS BEER with augiecarton on occasion. I only listen when there is a guest I'm interested in and the whole aspect of listening to dudes blind-drinking a beer so they can tell you what they think of it doesn't appeal to me. However, it's probably fun for the hosts.

I host a beer podcast. Lately we tend to get sidetracked about dumb things, and then realise we haven't drank beer that isn't a pilsner since our last episode. People listen and I earn a little money from it.

So, eat it.

I find them to be informative and interesting. Plus i have a really long commute. You do learn some things and get a sense of the seamier side of things when it comes to politics and business of beer.

Plus if you hate NEIPA, these things will bring endless enjoyment. So much "get off my lawn"
