I thought some ******* just rated 10 straight beers from Rogue perfect (5/5) on BA. . .

8 of them were DIPA/IPA/Pale Ales. . . (**** Rogue is even worse at?)

I mean, dude, if you would have given Double Chocolate Stout, Chocolate Stout, Shakespeare Stout, Old Crustacean barleywine such inflated ratings. . . I would have just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ bc they're good (albeit not perfect) beers.

But calling 10 Rogue beers "perfect"?

Right in the middle of my angst, I realized he rated "Rouge River" not "Rogue". Just a homer rating every beer released from a 2017 brewery all 5s.

Can't decide what I hate more, the idea of hoppy Rogue beers being called perfect, or a homer calling every single beer a new brewery makes "perfect". Or that I care.

Anyways, I guess the fallout from this is I hate beer, I hate myself for caring enough to hate beer and I've already counted strike 1 against Rouge River brewing despite never having had their beers.

We will party together before I die.

He continues... leaving us intrigued.

It's one of the few beers from Fort George that gets the wax-capped, 500 ml, special release bottle treatment. Any beer worthy of that has our attention.

MATRYOSHKA Imperial Stout is aged in Four Roses Bourbon Barrels with raspberries and cocoa nibs -- giving it layers and layers of elegant complexity.

At 12% ABV, it might come in a little hot, but that's the sorta thing we dig. If you don't, hide it away in the cellar for a bit.

Perhaps the perfect winter beer, Matryoshka is deep brown and brewed using a unique mobile bottling line that allows Fort George do short small batch releases of rare beers.

I am more confused by this than by one of furley's no-context posts in the NFL thread.

Just started? It's been awhile of the most annoying and arrogant hashtags. I've tasted six of their beers and only one was decent to drink again. **** em.
 
Drinking a local BA imperial stout, nice overall, roasty, sweet, barrel, decent stuff. But there was a faint note of fruitiness when it was cold that just stands out a bit. Didn't seem right. Like a fruit candy sort of thing. There's another local brewery that put a horrible imperial stout, it had a similar fruity taste to it, just like gummi bears, but it dominated the flavor. Is this a particular common brewing flaw?

I think so. Those type of flavors generally come from underpitching or stressing your yeast which seems to be pretty common with smaller breweries that don't bother with lab procedures.
