Goose Island's beer Gillian is named after Gillian Anderson who worked at Goose Island as a student. They named the beer after her years later when she became famous.

And the strawberries were a nod to her strawberry hair color. And the white pepper a nod to the fact she's a pale and hot.

I have no vested interest in the secondary market value but sweet Jesus is Jjjuliusss good. I domed a growler of HF Double Citra and had a glass of HF Excursions 3 before I opened this can. Incredible. It's like you steeped Citra hops in tangerine juice.
That ultra hopped riff on Julius is some of TH's best work, IMO.

At this point, I think you're probably better off adding vodka to fruit juice, but I guess there isn't any hype behind that.

We teamed up with our friends again at Other Half to brew Hundred Thousand Trillion; our second beer available in cans! This juicy IPA is heavily hopped with galaxy citra and el dorado. We also added mango, apricot and peach mid fermentation to complement the fermentation and dry hop character. An essential addition to your weekend. Noon open, both Boston & Canton. 16oz cans, $20/per 4 pack, limit 8 cans per person. No growler fills, however pouring drafts today, tomorrow at the Canton taproom. ~500 cases available.
Food Truck = M&M Ribs ~4-730p.
Trillium travels to Brooklyn to brew at Other Half later this year...stay tuned for details!

So essential.

The New Belgium Fat Tire and Friends box was as underwhelming as you might imagine. I tried four of the five new blends, skipping just the one from Rhinegeist, and the only legitimately good offering was the Firestone Walker one. Allagash and Avery are both perfectly capable breweries (as I assume is Hopworks, but I haven't had anything else from them), but these were very underwhelming efforts. Not bad, but not something I'd want two servings of.

What would you guys say is the best porter or stout out there in a 12oz bottle? I'm thinking for my area it would have to be either Edmund Fitzgerald or Old Rasputin. Thoughts?

Black Butte and Obsidian are probably my favorite standard porter and stout respectively. I also really like Edmund Fitzgerald, and New Holland's The Poet in those styles.

Expedition is the best imperial stout.
