Along different lines... some of ya'll might have noticed in the DDT I mentioned I was taking a brief break from IPAs. Partly reaction to ridiculousness of the "new england ipa" scene, partly self-correction (of late I probably have been drinking 85%+ IPAs).
No big deal, right? Who cares. ****, no one here has mentioned it or called it out. 'Cause who cares, right?

I work in beer retail (not representing store, comments no reflection, etc.), and I have many beery friends. The reaction of many of those folks to me simply forsaking a single beer style for a week?

Holy hell. In some cases, you'd think I told people I was going to grow a second head. People think I'm crazy. Or that I won't be able to do it. The reactions have been priceless.

As a larger group? I think New England drinkers have an IPA problem.
Gonna drink an IPA to spite you.

would it be a bad idea to fire up the grill right now?

Hop fatigue, sometimes you need to let your palate reset.

Me to the neighbor: Hey Herb, what's shaking?

Him: Not much, cleaning out this kegerator.

Me: come again?

Him: kegerator, cleaning it.

Me: why?

Him: to sell.

Me: The **** you are, it's sold.

Him: you can have it. Come on over I'll show you how to take it apart to clean.

YES!!!!!!!

Is it reasonable to go to both CBC Boston and The Festival? I already have VIP tickets to the former, and am strongly tempted by the latter. They have 20 breweries in common by my count, with CBC Boston having 39 unique breweries, and The Festival claiming 59 unique breweries. So it seems like there should be enough different beer to rationalize going to both. But that's a fairly costly endeavor.

Real question. Is that Herb's or your Buick in the driveway?

Definitely some of that. Though, as much hop "palate fatigue" as mental fatigue (errrr... wut?) over confining myself to the same style so badly. I've always liked IPAs, but used to drink a lot more broadly. Gotta get back there. Too much good beer out there.

Currently drinking a Two Hearted bottled on 2/24 and it is as tasty as if it were bottled yesterday. ******* hell this is a great beer.

Especially these days, there's a lot to be said for IPAs with a decent shelf life. Seems to be a largely forgotten quality. 2H, Union Jack, Finest Kind immediately come to mind.

How long has it been since you've gotten laid?

This might be one of the best things I've seen in a long time.no homeless by jester king like cycle and the dragon traxx release I assume.

Oh even better what happens if I'm there and you get shut out? Do I still get my $30. That would be an awesome conversation.

I was just wondering where in the hell you can still show up at 11:30 for a noon release.
