The last couple pages just confirm why I will never attend another bottle release. The shitbaggery that beer has turned into is hard for me to comprehend. Don't you people have better things to do?

I'm sure similar sentiments have been expressed here before, but after spending a week in NE Ohio, I've been reminded once again of just how lucky, spoiled, and sometimes jaded we PNW beer geeks are.

Can't wait to land in PDX in 6 hours.

Why?

Ah. Because the beer scene in NE Ohio, while continually improving, pales in comparison. Far fewer options beer, bar, and bottle shop wise.
Ah I see. What's funny is I seem to find a better selection than I get here in Florida when I visit cleveland for the holidays. ****** love Speedway Stout. And **** like Avery Vanilla Bean was just sitting on the shelves, it's gone the day it comes out here. Oregon must be ****** awesome for beer.

Nope. No good beer here. Florida is a way better beer scene.

A local area community college is adding a brewing science class/concentration to their portfolio of educational offerings/opportunities.

The list of regional participating brewers/breweries who are going to act as field instructors/participants is downright laughable. Talk about perpetuating mediocrity. These twits should be the ones attending school not instructing. Holy ****...
What are some if the breweries?

Except utah's.
The only thing good around here is the scenery, skiing, and yoga pants.
But then again, I did just order a case of LPG and St. Lam.
That doesn't sound ****** to me...

It is. Mostly because no one gives a **** about beer in Oregon and just drinks whatever they want. I miss it so much.

Welcome Back! The beer is still awesome here. #spoiled&jaded
