Speaking of barrel aged beers that used to be great, Ivan the ******* Terrible. I remember that beer back in 2010 and I was so hard for it... Had it last year and realized it's not even barrel aged anymore!?!!! What the **** kind of low ball **** is that Big Sky? Eat a dick.

They make a non-barrel version in 4pks and release the barrel version once a year.

I think even back then there were barrel-aged and non barrel-aged versions. I'm pretty sure I drank both regular and BA 2010 Ivan the Terrible at Hamilton's in SD a few years ago.

I'd make a comment about a beer with the word terrible in its name and still buying it, but then I'd be reminded how much I spent on S.H.I.T. and feel really ashamed

I realize that... Then call the "non barrel aged" something else. Because Ivan The Terrible was at one time, a 3,000 bottle count bad ass barrel aged Imperial Stout.

Trillium IPAs are the only ones I'll put an ISO for, and have yet to actually close on one. Otherwise I'll just drink Trop, Trop, and more Trop.
Agree re: Trillium. Still the best forums my money. We don't have much in the way of regular local offerings though, sadly... Hoping Roughtail's new year-round will change that though so I can attempt to drink it likes you drink Trop. (can't wait to finally try it!)

If that's the beer he's talking about, than his palette is broken, cause that beer sucks.
When was the last time you had it? They switched to the smaller bottle and drastically improved the taste.

And yes, it probably is. I drink lots of **** beer.

Three years ago?

It had way too much licorice for my taste. I didn't like it at all.

Mammoth Brewing who otherwise makes run of the mill beers has a beer that blows bcbs out of the water.
It's great that it's brewery only and a major pain in the ass the get to.
Anyone that knows me that goes there knows to pick me up a few bottles.

I agree I love that beer. They distribute now by the way at least to LA.

Yeah it is. Unfortunately, they've ditched the bombers and went to the smaller 500ml bottles. Was bummed when I discovered that.

...am I missing something? You're bummed that bottles are smaller, even if they taste drastically better?

Umm yes? After many years of tasting not as well in a 22oz bottle bottle, they release it in a smaller bottle and make the beer amazing,

I fail to see what the issue is here...
