I quit.

This is starting to get interesting.

And add me to the list of people wanting to try Pineapple Sculpin.

Thanks for sending me to ratebeer. I had a message waiting for me that I completely forgot about. Convo went something like this:

him:Hey, are you interested in abvmz? (references my post I made over there a while back)

Me: I may. Depends on what you're asking.

Him: It's been traded twice now, I think I want 2x zenne or 1 zenne + a&t = abvmz.

Me: **** off (said in a much nicer way).

Melvin 2x4 (which comes out today) is a 10% DIPA, but they used to call it a "quadruple pale ale". Isn't Abner an "imperial pale ale" and not a double IPA?

I've always wondered this about **** like ABVMZ: if a group of folks really don't like the **** that went down with that beer, what's to stop them from creating their own vigilante trade group to obtain all these bottles and send the ******** rocks and bricks instead?

It would certainly be like that one instance of holding a trade hostage that happened recently with that TB user I can't be bothered to remember. Would anyone really complain though?

It's all inconsistent and stupid, and asking someone willing to use those terms (who isn't being funny) is just asking for a boring-ass exploration of what words really mean, MAN.

I have bandied the idea of luring one of them with the idea of a whale bottle share to a high crime area and somehow leaving them in their underwear dosed with hallucinogens.

I don't really wan't the kidnapping charge or whatever associated with the second part.

So it's ok to be a bad trader if the person you're ******* over is someone you find repulsive to begin with?

Pretty much sounds like a standard outing to Mikkeller Bar SF.

The cost of shipping rocks and bricks, mostly.
Fair point.

Nah, I think it's a ****** move too. But considering the lengths some people in this hobby will go to to exploit others, I'm honestly surprised a plot like that hasn't been put in play already from some misguided individuals who take this **** way too seriously.

As far as that beer itself goes, I really want to think that "Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra, and Experimental hops" will be really good, but I'm expecting the verdict will be "tastes like basically every other hoppy Sierra Nevada beer".

wait, are we bashing Sierra Nevada now?

I drink most of their beers and enjoy them when I do (except for Flip Side, which is not good), but their IPAs aren't exactly showcases for the hops they use. They all come out tasting fairly similar. Maybe if they are super-fresh on draft it's a different story, I don't know.

Does anyone drink Torpedo and think "yeah, Citra bomb!"?

Yes, for putting out a very reasonably priced mix of beers that if any one of the associated breweries put theirs in a bomber and sold it for $15, people would be posting ISO's for weeks.

(Though the shipping issue is legit. A couple of the beers last year were obviously hurt by a 6 week delay to shelves. Moxxee's potential is likely going to be completely negated by this...)

Am I supposed to? Torpedo is ******* delicious. That's all I care about.

Well, it uses a lot of Citra hops (if I recall correctly, it's actually the beer that Citra was cultivated specifically for, and something like 80+% of the Citra crop goes towards its production), but I don't really get any of that hop's distinctive character from it. I agree that it's a quite good beer.
