So it wasn’t terrible. Far to chocolatey. I had been drinking their new pils, which I really like, but it’s heavy sulphur. This is one of the better breweries in Raleigh(Trophy Brewing), but they never nail a style.

We need to meet up for a beer soon. Like really soon

Good write-up about key beers in the UK scene over the last ten years. The majority are < 5.5% while the only one with adjuncts uses cucumber and mint and tastes like Greek tzatziki. Visiting Americans are always complaining about being underwhelmed by the offerings there but it just takes time to get acclimatized to a very different culture. Three of the contributors to the article are from over here originally.

After being passed in the House ... Beer to Go has been successfully amended into the bill to continue funding for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Pretty much a done deal at this point.



They compromised on 1 case (or case equivalent by oz) per person per day. Which is fine? That’s mainly to stop direct keg sales I’m sure.

Kinda bummed they withdrew the distillery amendment. It’ll stay at 2 bottles per month per distillery till at least the next legislative session. Not as big of a deal as beer but eh.

Also the bill overall just passed. Going to the Governor.

We still have some ass-backwards laws with this ****. We're not allowed to sell anything at the brewery (not even draft). A few breweries DGAF and sell anyways but it's illegal.

New Belgium seems to kill everyone in our area from out of state right now in freshness. Voodoo Ranger IIPA is a beer I drink often and they seem to always have it at 2 weeks old at the supermarket.

I last bought a 6-pack of it in January, packaging date was mid-November, cool. The 6-pack immediately behind it at the grocery store was packaged in August.
