They are/were distroing to here for some reason. Their sit just sat on shelves.

They had recently started distributing to Seattle. Some of the canned IPAs sold ok but their big format sours all sat around. And they sent so many of them.

Toolbox closed in October as well? I liked the stuff I’d had from them.

So I need some clarification, if anybody could help I would much appreciate it. I was always under the impression that two vintages of SR-71 were made or at least bottled, 2015 and 2018. But on Untappd I see a “SR-71 Blackbird” dated 2013. Only has like 42 checkins. I recognize some of the people checking it in because they are Instagram famous and whatnot. Does anyone know the story behind this?
Thanks
Rodosman

I don't know the full story, but it's a different, non-BA beer that was never bottled.

I beg to differ. It says barrel aged right on the label. Did you look up “SR71 Blackbird” on untapped? Clearly there are pictures of bottles and the label on that bottle says barrel aged.

If you know all about what it is then why bother with asking the question? The beer you’re referencing wasn’t bottled. Just cause people checked a beer in (either 2015 or 2018) and posted pics doesn’t mean they actually clicked on the right beer while doing so.

Leaving the office yesterday I had a decision to make between two options:

1. Go to local craft store and buy a stovetop BA 1050 and 4-pack of local haze for around $25+ combined and hope the hops are excellent but know the chance of them being tough to drink are just as likely.

or

2. Go to Publix and buy the Sierra Nevada Snow Pack 12-pack on sale for $16 out the door.

SN is going to get a lot more of my $ this year, and I'm really not a big fan of SNPA (solid, just always 2-3 months out)

So what option did you go with?

Has anyone told you what a beautiful person you are?

Because I called you out for acting like a child when someone answered your question? You used untappd checkins as a way of "proving" you were right and the person that answered your question was wrong. You then condescendingly asked if they bothered to look up the beer on untappd, cause the pictures say BA.

Long story short, GFY.

I now regret even replying to that post...

Yeah, I went a bit too far with that. I just cannot stand it when people use untappd to "prove" something. It happens all the time when people try to win trades, or raffle beers for stupid pricing, or make their local average beer the next whale.

Then this guy comes along and uses untappd to show that someone answering his question correctly is wrong because someone posted a picture of a different beer on the check-in.

Sleep deprivation is making me one cranky bastard.

I liked it and think you could have gone further with it. Keep doing what you're doing.

Yeah, it looks like the 2013 version of SR71 was the non-barrel aged version. I thought I remember reading a while ago that it was called Norseman or something like that, and that the SR71 name debuted as the barrel aged version of it in 2015, but I couldn't find the article.

On a different note, is anyone here going to be attending Side Project's birthday party next Sunday (December 16th)? I was planning on taking my wife to Columbus next weekend for her birthday to go to a vegan restaurant that she's been excited for as well as see a movie that's having a limited theatrical run. The real surprise will be when I tell her we have to wake up at the asscrack of dawn the next day to drive 7 hours to St. Louis to drink beer. Contemplating the drive down so if any of you are going to be there and would be interested in splitting bottles with my wife and I, shoot me a message.

Did you guys ever consider that Rodosman might not even be a name? It could be a polite way of signing off, similar to "best regards" or "good tidings, friends!"

Rodosman to you all, my dudes.
I think it's Rodo's man, now we just need to find out who Rodo is...
