They're such a weird brewery. Burst onto the scene a couple years ago with Bomb and Noir and decent saisons, got all popular, and then just meh.
yeah funky gold mosaic was good, same with pirate bomb and apple brandy noir. its easy as **** for them to be so inconsistent since they try to make so many different types of beers instead of focusing on the styles they're good at. which seems to happen with most breweries nowadays

Actually I modify that original statement. They make several good beers. It just seems like they **** up when they shouldn't. They could just make nice saisons, wild ales, and BA stouts all day long and do great.

22$+ for Backwoods bastard .... Paid 12.99 last year, I'll pass.

Pure Hoppiness tastes similar to HopSlam. Bottles have every indication it's made being brewed and bottled by alpine ...?

Track 7 makes a Cascadian Dark ale that tastes mostly entirely of delicious coffee (I don't drink coffee either) , it is delicious.

Can someone explain to me what the deal is with Bzart? Just saw a couple of their beers at a local shop for $69. Seriously, what the ****?

In the simplest of terms, it's Oud Beersel lambic that is re-fermented using Champagne yeast and methods of Champagne production. Comes out as a sparking wine/lambic hybrid. Not bad. Not even close to worth the price.

God damn that's expensive, I'd be passing it up at 22 bucks too.

I went up to Tampa this weekend, had Caffe Americana on tap and it had this artificial lingering aftertaste. I was going to buy a couple bottles but decided against it after that. It's a shame because it was really good the first time around.

There is one glass I would go into the triple digits for. How high I'm not sure, and that scares me a bit.

I paid $100 for my OG KBS glass, but that was a few years back and it would go for probably at least double that now. I was also offered $200 for my Black Friday Goose Island glass for the OG Rare, but as I didn't need the money / like the glass I passed on it.

Glassware is even stupider than beer at times.

OG KBS I've seen people on the Glasswhales group offer in excess of $500 for.

The glass I alluded to above is the Bell's Expedition glass. It's the one piece of glassware I want more than any other. If someone offered me the choice of it or the OG Iris glass, I'd go for the Expo glass no questions asked.

And I was complaining about $18 backwoods...

I also paid $13.99 for Founders Harvest Ale yesterday without realizing it. It also sucked this year, so double whammy. Founders is doing a good job losing me as a customer. Still love the porter too much though

I paid $3.75 for a single of Harvest Ale just to try it. I did enjoy it though, and I'm not usually a wet hop IPA fan.

Cellarmaker Coffee Sessions was my favorite beer of the weekend.

It was a weekend which involved a barrel aged beer festival, the Torpedo Room and Rare Barrel.

I've never had the East Bay lose to SF in beer before. Now I'm all like:

That's my plan for this weekend.
Minus the festival.

Who cares if it's "cheating"?

Does it taste good or not. That's all I care about. I guess I'm a binary basic bitch of beer.
I was just saying, if someone makes a mosaic ipa and it isn't good they should give up brewing forever. Nothing against beers blasted with citra/mosaic/whatever other awesome hop.

What's funny is there are a bunch of these. Terrapin's mosaic red IPA comes to mind. In fact for a long time I didn't get the hype around mosaic because all the examples of mosaic-heavy beers I'd tried had been mediocre.

Then I had Society & Solitude 6...

Well that's Terrapin's fault for making their mosaic a red ipa with a ton of crystal malt clashing with the hops. Terrapin is also just consistently underwhelming.

Man this year's Harvest was disappointing. Anyone know which hops they used?
