late to the party but a fun gem from the BA "flop house" thread

"Sorry, kiddo, there are NOT hundreds of great beers out there. There are hundreds of mediocre breweries churning out mediocre IPAs and Double IPA with cute but completely inaccurate names. THAT is why I'm tired of trying new beers and want to mostly stick with what I know is good and appeals to my palate. I also ONLY want to drink fresh beer. Sorry, but a 3wk old Pliny is *****. Anyone who says differently is more enamored with the CONCEPT of drinking Pliny that what Pliny tastes and smells like.

But to my point, the false advertising is my biggest pet peeve. How many times have you opened the latest Citra/Simcoe/Double Dry Hopped/Resinous/Piney Hoposaurus, put your nose the the bottle and smelled.... Malt. 95 times our of 100 is my guess. then you spend your time trying to convince yourself that it's really good. "Interesting". while secretly wishing you had a fresh Heady or ZD or SoS or FPPA. Life it too short. False advertising is wasting my time. That's why I trust what I read on this site. I will not even bother tasting anything with less that a 95 rating and 50 reviews."

poes law to the maximum.. I don't know what to believe anymore.

I don't "get" bomb at all. One the the biggest paper tigers I've come across. I wouldn't pay a quarter of what people are charging. More for others I guess.

It turds up shelves out here, and you'll never see me buying it, but it is a beer I enjoy getting as an extra in trades. Or I'll sometimes find it at a somewhat reasonable price on tap, and might get a pour then.

Prairie just entered my market. Their big shipment? BOMB.

Lol at pretty much $1 per ounce. Looks like bomb will be a shelf turd in my market.

It's $5-$6 here (in Prairie's backyard) & turds it up in a lot of places. I can't remember the last time I bought any.

I have gotten a metallic taste from the bomb bottles I've had in the past.

I've also had good bottles that I liked. Not sure it's worth the price, I thought it was $6 a bottle which is still high but $10-12 seems way too steep.

Gawd can this whole anti-pumpkin movement in craft beer and society just die already? It's reached the point where it's more annoying than seeing pumpkin-everything for 2 months every year.

Also, you know what's more annoying than pumpkin beers? Complaining about pumpkin beers EVERY ******* YEAR.
