I brewed an IPA/DIPA January 24. 1.072. 2 packs of re-hydrated US-05. I used two packs largely because one was fairly old. Shake the crap out of it for three minutes to aerate. Ferment at 63-64ish; but did hit about 67 or so for about 12 hours. It was very slow to start fermenting.

Bought an aquarium heater - 100W. I would like to raise the fermentation temp to 68 or so to finish it off and to allow itself to clean up.

I have a swamp cooler in my basement. Ambient temp. is about 60 degrees. I am thinking of putting the heater and fermentor in the swamp cooler at the same time and turning on the heater. 68 degrees is the lowest setting. I figure it will take 1.5 - 2.0 days to raise 10+ gallons of liquid from 62 (average) to 68. I was thinking of starting tomorrow.

Any advice on timing, etc. would be appreciated.

Thank you.
