IOTTMCO
I'll be darned. Thanks for the clarification, @mac_1103. Could be my memory is at fault, rather than the fellow I worked with in the '80s. I think I assumed he had made this up, maybe 'cuz I never heard/saw it elsewhere. I feel very sure it was not to be found in any of the college texts I read.
However, your friend did not coin it and in fact didn't even get it completely right. It's IOTETMCO (intuitively obvious to EVEN the most casual observer) and I'm pretty sure it was used in several of my 40+ year old college text books (sans acronym in most cases of course).
Lots of good people here. Also, a huge shout out to this community and thank you to those who do post for the lurkers like myself who would prefer to get answers to their questions without posting.
I don't have his number, so I tried sending him smoke signals. After all, he's just the next state over and he is pretty old-school... But then the fire department showed up and put a nix on that whole thing...
I think @bracconiere was an AI as he came showed up as a "crappy homebrewer" but left as someone you might consider what he had to offer.Lots of good people here.
But watch out for those ChatGPT summary replies (aka "echo chamber on steriods"). Yes, I've see a couple recently. No, I didn't report those posts. Over the short to intermediate term, techniques to identify statistically generated text will lag creation of said text - and one alternative is to find sources of hobby content that are known to be human generated.
If I find broc "out there, some where" where GPTs fear to go, I'll suggest he stop by.

8. He's been lurking here all along and doesn't want to post and end the attention we've been lavishing on him.
I wonder if that guy is still around somewhere…
Glad he’s around. He hasn’t posted in 2 years though.View attachment 821947
Hope Bracc is not involved in the canadian fires, he'd be in trouble for leaving the states under witsec I think. And I totally agree that while it might amuse him to essentially be looking in on his own funeral, he'd be unable to withhold comment.
Last post was 4/1/2021.No, not 2 years. Quick search says April 2nd 2023. So a little over 2 months.

OK, lets be fair here. That is one guy who would not be on a milk carton. Now if they started putting these notices on beer kegs, that would seem logical, although he wouldn't see it much, Not if he had homebrew left.
The mods cannot see a member's email addr. Only the admins can do that (unless I have a power I haven't found yet.)Heartens me to see all these posts. I just hope he's not lurking without posting, too embarrassed to come back (although I find that notion inconceivable). I did send him a DM back in early May, with my personal email address in case he didn't want to reply here. Still nothing, and yes I check my spam regularly. HBT just isn't the same.
Question: can't the mods send him a direct email? We all have to have an email address to have an account. This has probably been done already but I just thought of it.
According to all TV and movie computer hacker tropes, you can, with very few keystrokes, turn on my toaster and reorder eggs, toothpaste, and Weyermann Barke Pils malt.
