I'm taking advantage of some unseasonably warm weather here in mid-MO to fire up the grill. I'm cooking filet mignon wrapped in thick-cut bacon.

Do I need to pre-cook the bacon at all, or will the time it takes for the steak to get medium-rare on the grill be enough?

Depends on the thickness of the filets. If they are pretty thin and your cooking to medium rare that probably wont be enough time to goo the bacon. So either pre cook it for just a minute or so or do like orfy said. But if you chose to just roll it I would probably do that first so you dont risk over cooking your steak.

Should be definitely be fine. If it's no done enough for you style roll it on it's edge to help the bacon along.

That's exactly what I do, and I use thick bacon and cook my Filets to a medium-rare, at most

Good call guys. I cooked 'em up yesterday. The bacon turned out perfect, and I ate so much I had to take a couch-nap.
