Hey all,
I found someone selling the deluxe beer kit from northern for 85. I kind of wanted to go with a fast fermenter kit I can get from my lbs for about 160 the way I want it. What to do?

If you like the one at your LHBS better it's the one you should go with because you will enjoy it more and not feel like you settled for something less.

Thanks guys. That makes sense. I want to enjoy the process not settle. I do want to go to all grain once I get down the process a bit.

Not sure if you picked one already but Midwest supplies and home brew academy have a nice starter kit. That's what I use. It's about the same price 150ish I think. I was only able to find it by typing in Google: Midwest and home brew academy kit. It's not listed if you go to Midwest webpage. There's also a small video on YouTube you can watch about the kit. I thought it was the most rounded kit out of all of the 100's of choices.

Unless you are planning to "yeast ranch", save some money and get the standard kit. Most of us have that kind of kit, it works fine, and the difference in cost will buy a lot of ingredients. Ingredients are what make beer, not the fancy fermenter.
