Alright I just raked my chinook IPA from the primary to the secondary yesterday. I pitched it using a yeast starter and was very impressed with it fermenting in the primary, had a huge yeast cake. I did my best to not disturb the yeast cake when raking. So now the one day after sitting in the secondary there seems to already be a big yeast cake again already. Is this a bad thing, will it affect the taste, what are yall's thoughts?

Don't worry about it. All of the yeast that's settled out in your secondary is nice and healthy, so there won't be any off flavors or the like. If anything, I'd be glad theres all that extra yeast there to clean up the beer before you bottle it.

Alright thats good to hear. This is my fourth batch ever and I haven't been satisfied with the results of the last three, so I'm trying to make sure I do everything right this time. I've never had yeast like that so I was concerned. Thanks for your advice and reassurance, I really appreciate it.

yep, remember that the yeast make the beer...we just prepare the wort for them.

Leaveing your beer on some yeast gives them a chance to finish up their job, and clean up any waste they produce so your beer tastes nice and clean.
