Hey guys,

Got some Wyeast in the mail and it was bloated. I assumed that it was "smacked/broken" in the mail. Brewed some beer with some friends and when it came time to put in the Wyeast we opened it up to find it HAD NOT been broken. At that point we made the decision to break open the little pouch and dump it all in the beer...do you think it will ferment?

Thanks for the thoughts!

+1 on good to go. Just did a dead guy AG clone and had the same situation w/Wyeast1450 Denny's fav. NB sent me a replacement but I never needed it. I treated it w/kit gloves but thought I could feel the blister inside. Smacked it on brew day and was good.
Replacement pack came swelled as well. Even if it was smacked during shipping it is still good if you get it in yer fridge.
Read the FAQ on Wyeast web site. Certian strains are more suseptible to this phenomena than others. Yer good.
