Im new to the computer thhing but have been makin juice for years. I found this site to deal with others like me.being new i felt obligated to do my part and add something i like to do this time of year. Not sure where a recipe Like this should go so excuse me if it belongs elsewhere.
OLD PUMPKIN HOOCH
Start this recipe as soon as you see pumpkins along the side of the road
1- start like your carving two jackolantern but dont cut out the faces.
2- fill them half full of brown sugar and half with cane sugar.
3-activate some yeast to start things off and put the plugs you cut out back onthem.(recipe said seal with parifin wax but i never have)
4- after one week on the front porch it will start to get soft so poor contents of the two into 1 more cleaned out pumpkin and let stand for a week.
5-Repeat step 4 untill the mash stops workin
6- poor into 5 gal. Bucket and add nutmeg cinomon and wood smoking chips.
7-after a month of that strain, sweeten( if desired) and bottle.
(new twist im gonna try this year - use champagne bottles and champagne yeast)

This juce gets much better after it sits for a year...or longer if you can keep yourself from it.

So does it pick up alot of the pumpkin flavors?

What color is the final product? Is it orange or does it brown up?

Should I just collect pumpkins on the curbs in my neighborhood to blend into a mash? I'm not really worried about scorching any fiber, even after additions of pectic enzyme.
