I'm a newbie to brewing and I'm doing my second batch, which happens to be a pumpkin ale. I've had it in secondary fermentation for about 2 weeks, and the other day I noticed that there were large, cloudy patches of orange floating all over the top of the beer. At first I thought it might be an infection, but after moving it into the light it looks alot like pumpkin that's floated it's way to the top. After I moved the carboy back, a good bit of it sank down to the bottom. So, is this probably pumpkin and the beer is fine or is there something funky going on? Does any one have any thoughts or experience like this with a pumpkin ale? Thanks!

It's probably pumpkin. It's tough to see without a picture.

On my pumpkin ale I usually do a teritary tank because there is so much sedimentation. I go from a 6.5 gallon carboy to a 6 gallon carboy to a 5 gallon carboy. I know it's probably overkill but it's what I do.
