I just successfully bottled my first 5 gallon batch ever! I am so excited because I tried some and it tasted great. Can't wait for it to condition. Just hope I didn't screw anything up.

I made an American Hefeweizen. I added some orange peel to the boil and it added a nice flavor.

This site was so instrumental in getting me through this. So thanks.

I can't wait to drink it!!

Welcome to the obsession. What are you planning to brew next? If you time your brewing right you won't run out of beer.

Good question. My local store has some good products on sales this month. I was thinking a red or a steam beer. Maybe an IPA. Not sure yet. I will probably go to the store and see what calls to me.

Somethings to be aware of (I wish I had known some of them) is that fermentation temperature makes a big difference in the taste of your beer, that time in the fermenter gives you clear beer without a lot of sediment in the bottles and lets the yeast clean up byproducts, and that darker beers take longer to be ready to drink. I drank a lot of sub par beers when I started brewing because I didn't know these.
