Proper glass to serve Apfelwein?

What is the recommended serving glass style for Apfelwein?

I've served in American style pint, Guinness Imperial pint, glass mug, and pilsner glass. I found the the pilsner glass allows for the bubbles to effervesce like champagne or a good pilsner sans head. The other three options seemed to hold the gas in solution allowing for burp factor, but held back on that bubble bite.

SWMBO = Champagne Flute.
Me = Pint Glass.

No, I've nucleated most of my pints...that is to say that I've attacked the bottom of them with a die grinder and a fine grit grinding stone....DON"T pour BMC into one if you do that....it erupts all over the floor!

Usually an empty one!!

I believe in Germany they use smaller glasses. Something like a kolsch glass or try using a highball glass.

I like to use any stemmed glass. If all are dirty, then I use a pint glass.

Seriously though, I typically use either a pint glass or champagne flute depending on my mood.

I used a pilsner for my first glass last night. Even though it wasn't very carbed up, I still got little bubbles running up the length of it.

was having fun with this, but for real, I do love those thick glasses with the diamond pattern on them. Unfortunately, I can not find any 8 oz versions. The ones I have are all 16 ox.

Check the wiki for the official serving vessel. (Greppeite? for a glass, Brembel? for pitcher) sorry about the spelling. If you want to drink it in the traditional style, its basically a nice chilled clay pitcher and a american pint glass. Hard to find here. Do a google search for Possman's Apfelwein.

I drink mine out of a nonic pint.

SWMBO uses these too and we use the official Frankfurter Apfelwein glasses called Geripptes.

The hold 0.25 L, so you can go slow compared to a pint glass
