I have a Stevenson’s and Reeves Hydrometer. I measure the SG of my cider must and it reads about 40 (blue band) and after fermentation it reads about 11 (black band) In all the readings given on the cider-making sites I don’t see any readings like mine. They all start with 1. as in 1.45 1.29 etc . What am I doing wrong or misreading?
