Lacto doesn't like hoppy environments, it can't thrive there. So possibly you may have some lacto infection, it won't grow fast. You've got a couple months if kept cold. IPAs should be finished by then anyway.

That's good news because it will be gone after this weekend, and everything will be disinfected to my best ability.

UPDATE: So I bleach bombed everything, and then put a centennial blonde in and let it ferment for 9 days. Today, when I opened it up this is what I found. Went and got a new fermenter.

Damn!

Did you also get new racking tubing? And clean/scrub everything that touches your wort and beer after chilling?

Darn it.

I have never played "name that pellicle", but that last picture has a brettanomyces look about it.

I was wondering about that myself. I wish I was still in undergrad and had access to a lab, I would definitely try and culture it up!

What's the current gravity? I am surprised at this in only 9 days. Almost like the yeast never took off and the batch was ripe for unwanted guests.
