I'm brewing a Hefe soon and am new to kegging. I just completed a three tap keezer and currently have two brews in the Keezer and one keg for carbonated water. After primary can I simply prime in the keg as if I were bottling and store it, then just put the keg in the keezer to cool when space opens up? My intent is that the keg will be fully carbed like bottles and just need cooling and purging of the yeast that drops out during storage/cooling.

Where am I wrong or missing something in this plan?

Yes it’ll be like barrel conditioning, but use half or ⅔ amount of priming sugar. I find the beer taste better than artificially carbonating. after closing lid, attach co2 and fill some gas and release pressure valve to remove oxygen from keg and also to ensure proper seal of lid. Failing to do so can cause leak which is very difficult to find.
For serving, attach co2 line.
