Primary Fermentor How Long is Too Long?

I have a CA common that will have been sitting in the primary for 4 weeks this Sunday. I am leaving town tomorrow for a week and probably will not have time to bottle the beer until the following weekend. Should I rack the beer before I leave town to avoid off flavors from leaving the beer on the yeast cake for 6 weeks, or will it not be a problem?

6 weeks is no problem, I've had beers in primary for 3+ months without any issues.

A guy I converse with said he left a beer in the primary for 8 months and that that wasn't too long. I've only gone 9 weeks myself but I liked the outcome.
