Brewing American Light.... What PSI does the plastic pail build up to. I was thinking of using an automatic bleeder to set to a controlled pressure with a low and high setting,... any suggestions and does it matter the quantity of the batch?

It will build up until it blows the lid off if you're not using a blow-off tube or airlock. Why are you wanting to keep it under pressure?

With an airlock or blowoff tube installed on thd bucket, there really won't be any pressure in it (well there will be a little, but that's not important).

You wouldn't want to build up pressure in a plastic bucket, or bad things may happen, like beer exploded everywhere.

There are ways to have a pressurized fermentarion for certain benefits, but that requires more equipment other than a bucket.

Just wondering if Ideal primary fermenting is supposed to have pressure. The pail has a little pressure in it and it is bubbling every 10-15 seconds. Just want to make sure if I am supposed to have pressure ..how much it acutually supposed to be... so i guess I am trying to understand why we need such an air tight pail ?

Don't worry about the small amount of pressure in there. The pressure, or lack of pressure, doesn't have any effect of the actuall product. You really dont need an air-tight seal either. It's recommended for sanitary reasons, but its not necessary. A lot of people have actually been doing open fermentations (literally open).

Pressure is only important in the bottle or keg. Before that, it's not a factor, unless you have too much in which case you might be mopping your ceiling. ;)
