Pressure transfer question

Update. I’m doing my third closed transfer right now. The gas is still pushing into the fermenter first. It bubbles first before reversing and pushing the beer into the keg. I connect the lines before opening the spigot on the fermenter. What am I doing wrong? Should I not connect the gas like until the spigot is open?

You need to connect "gas" to "gas" first to equalize the pressure then open "liquid" to "liquid". As long as you have a gravity differential a siphon should start.
*if you purge the line with liquid the syphon will start. Purging is pretty important for final O2 exposure, and as an added benefit it lets you start the syphon without managing vessel pressures.

I edited post #22 to be a step-by-step list, if you want to use it as a reference.
